Capacity Building

As a fellow not-for-profit company, BSRI strives to build on strengths and resources of local agencies to create a stronger, healthier community. Capacity building services often include exploring creative and traditional revenue streams, coalitions and collaborative movements currently operating within communities, and training or workforce development opportunities. We often find that community-based agencies are true experts regarding their services and local needs, and that they offer a unique perspective that makes them extremely resourceful.

soarBSRI also provides capacity building for organizations looking to enter a more research-focused arena. For example, BSRI can work with students and/or residents on conducting research for the organization (e.g. for quality assurance around NCQA standards) and can assist with the development of patient/client registries and de-identifying data for analysis. We have a team of attorneys assisting us and are fully trained in HIPAA and Healthcare privacy compliance.

Evaluation Capacity Building

BSRI also provides evaluation capacity building (ECB) services. ECB is often two-fold, assisting organizations through developing human capital and resources to evaluate programs and also increasing evaluation utility within an organization. ECB work includes collaboration with organizations on activities to improve data collection infrastructure, enhance quality data review, and implement sustainable evaluation strategies. BSRI assists clients through a self-assessment process, often using the Evaluation Capacity in Organizations Questionnaire (Cousins et al., 2008). Through this process, BSRI and the organization create an individualized technical assistance plan to help the organization reach specific, tailored ECB goals.

Strategic Planning

A strategic plan is a living document that provides guidance and evolves as your company’s needs change over time. Strategic planning assists companies in creating direction and making company goals a reality by aligning resources and objectives with their mission and vision. BSRI provides strategic planning facilitation as well as capacity building around strategic planning initiatives. This includes building a working understanding of your company’s current state, developing strategic planning goals and objectives collaboratively with your organization, and providing technical assistance to execute tasks and refine the document as needed.

Training and Technical Assistance

BSRI provides onsite training and technical assistance on several topics both in group and individual settings. BSRI is approved by the Florida Certification Board to provide continuing education units (CEUs) and has provided training related to Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT), Evaluation 101, Medication Assisted Treatment, and primary-behavioral health integration. BSRI utilizes a training platform called Relias which houses more than 500 online training modules (most are approved by multiple organizations for CEUs) and we have the ability to adapt and disseminate these trainings on topics related to behavioral health and the workforce.
